Jack Wilson, 65, of RR3 Tottenham died Monday, Jan. 21, 1985 at his home. Sone of Daniel and Nita Wilson, both of England, he was born July 27, 1920 in Nobleton. He worked as a farmer most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie McLeod, three sons, Harold, Wayne and Brian, one daughter, Brenda, his mother Nita Wilson, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Jan. 24 at the Lathangue and Skwarchuck Funeral Home, Bradford with Rev. Henry Dahlin officiating. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.

Wilson, Norma May: At Royal Victoria Hospital, Saturday, January 26th, Norma May Wilson in her 81st year. Beloved sister of Lambert Wilson of Barrie and the late Sarah Young; dear aunt of Norman Young of Toronto, Douglas and Shirley Young of Barrie; Gordon and Nancy Young of Bradford, Jim and Marilyn Young of Toronto and their families. Services were from St. Peter's Anglican Church in Churchill on Monday, January 28th at 11 o'clock.

Tressa Curl in her 23rd year, wife of Courtney, dear mother of Eric and Angel, dear daughter of Richard and Margaret Curl of Pefferlaw. Dear sister of Elizabeth Thompson and Darlene Curl, both of Pefferlaw. Dear granddaughter of the late Edgar and Isobel Maratyn, Walter and the late Maysie Curl. Friends called at the Lathangue & Schwarchuk Funeral Home, 649 Centre Street, Mount Albert. Service was held in the Chapel, Saturday, at 1:30 p.m. Interment Mount Albert Cemetery.

Description : One of the Holland Marsh pioneers, John Wist Sr. died last Tuesday (August 28) at York County Hospital in Newmarket. He was 83. Born in Yugoslavia, Mr. Wist emigrated to Canada in 1927, residing first in the west, then moving to the Leamington area. He and his wife Elizabeth worked on a sugar beet farm weeding for $12 an acre - tough work that lasted from sunup to sundown. Forty years ago, Mr. Wist and his family settled in the Holland Marsh where he cleared a five-acre parcel of land. He built a home on the King Rd. near the Fourth Concession, carrying every piece of lumber for the house the distance of one mile. Back in those days work really meant work" his son John Jr. commented. While he officially retired about 30 years ago Mr. Wist still kept busy on the family farm near the Muck Research Station. He helped with the back-breaking job of clearing the land and his son recalled one incident where his father had fallen during the clearing operations. Shrugging off the pain Mr. Wist suggested more work could be done on the drainage ditches. It was only later that he discovered he'd cracked two ribs in that fall. For the past two years Mr. Wist and his wife lived in retirement in Bradford. He became ill about one month ago. Mr. Wist leaves his wife Elizabeth Ernst and his son John Jr. He is predeceased by his son Frank. He also leaves a brother Mike of Toronto, grandsons Jim, Rick, Gary, and Paul, and great-grandchildren Kim, Teressa and Jaimie. Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home in Bradford and funeral mass was held at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Roman Catholic Church last Friday. He was buried at the Holy Martyrs Cemetery in West Gwillimbury Township."

Elizabeth Wist, 84, of 200 Holland Court, Bradford, died on Monday, Jan. 14, 1985 in York County Hospital, Newmarket.
The daughter of Joseph and Katherine Ernst, of Yugoslavia, she was born on Apr. 28, 1900 in Yugoslavia.
She was a member of the Holy Martyrs of Japan Roman Catholic Church.
Predeceased by her husband John Wist Sr. and a son Frank, she is survived by her son John Wist Jr. of RR1 Kettleby, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday,January 17 at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Church with Father Vella officiating. Interment Holy Martyrs Cemetery.
