Feeding the Turkeys

Joseph was the son of Thomas Martin (1840-1919) and Elizabeth Martin (nee Lee) (1850-1936). Elizabeth Lee was the daughter of Thomas Lee (1794-1868) and Ann Lee (nee Graham) (abt. 1825-1903).

Greenview Farm

Greenview Farm was the residence of Richard H. Crake, wheat farmer, and covered 212 acres in 1906. It was located on the "Bond Head Rd.", or Highway 88 near Sideroad 10. It was first the Tyrwhitt Farm, owned by Colonel Tyrwhitt of Bond Head, before Crake bought it in 1903. Crake farmed here until 1914, when it was sold to F. Smelser. He was known to the town as Dick Crake.

Greenview Farm building

Greenview Farm was the residence and farm of Richard H. Crake, wheat farmer, and covered 212 acres in 1906. It was located on the "Bond Head Rd.", or Highway 88 near Bond Head. It was first the Tyrwhitt Farm, owned by Colonel Tyrwhitt of Bond Head, before Crake bought it in 1903. Crake farmed here until 1914, when it was sold to F. Smelser. Hay load on Faris Farm

Loose hay on the way to storage on the Faris farm. The way hay was handled before the pick-up baler arrived in the 1940's.

Barn on the (Roy, Orville) Hughes farm, the south half of Lot 1, Concession 2. The Hughes' farm shows two styles of barns. The early shed roof on the left and then the hip roof on the right barn (added in 1937).
