Description : Death came unexpectedly to one of West Gwillimbury's most highly esteemed residents, Mr. H. R. Wilson, on Monday, April 4. Mr. Wilson had apparently been in his usual good health until the last.Son of the late James Wilson and Agnes Robinson, he was born on lot 3, con. 9 in the Township of West Gwillimbury, on the 25th day of August 1875, on the farm on which he died. He spent his entire life in the Township of West Gwillimbury in the County of Simcoe. He was a life long farmer and took a keen interest in Municipal and Educational affairs. For many years he was secretary of the Ontario Trustees and Ratepayers Association (Rural Division). On October 28th, 1906, he married Effie Banting, daughter of the late Charles Banting and Jane McDermott. Through this union three sons and two daughters were born, Neil, England; Marjorie (Mrs. Herbert Goss), Orillia; Gilbert H., Cooksville; C. M. (Mac) on the old homestead, and Jean, Phm.B. of Toronto. He loved his church, always being a staunch Presbyterian, and for many years was elder of Bond Head and later Bradford Presbyterian Churches.
