"A cyclone, accompanied by torrential rain and some hail, wrought heavy damage on a comparatively small acreage of the Holland Marsh gardens late last Thursday afternoon. The storm struck in the Springdale area and while crops in general in that area took a terrific beating, about three or four growers, directly in the path of the about half-mile wide storm, suffered the heaviest loss." ...
"Last Wednesday the students and staff at Innisfil Central School honoured two long time bus drivers who retired this year. The two men were given plaques in appreciation for their years of service. " West Gwillimbury council has nominated Earl Rowe of Newton Robinson to receive one of the jubilee medals being minted by the federal government in recognition of Queen Elizabeth's 25 years on the throne. Mr. Rowe is a former MP and MPP and he was Ontario's lieutenant-governor from 1963 to 1968. Bradford council also recently nominated lawyer Charles Evans, former Warden of Simcoe County to receive a jubilee medal."
"Simcoe Manor, Beeton has two spanking new wheelchairs for residents' use. Last Thursday Women's Auxiliary president, Mary Cannon of Gilford made the presentation of the chairs valued at $230. A picture of Jesus in contemporary art was also presented in memory of Mrs. Isabelle Hopkins, a long-time resident and auxiliary worker. The picture will hang in the chapel. Manor superintendent Ed Boynton accepted the gifts in a special ceremony before the auxiliary's monthly public euchre. Seen here are Mrs. Cannon; auxiliary treasurer, Willow Kneeshaw, Mr. Boynton and his wife, Maisie, convenor of the auxiliary tuck shop."

Part of a collection of woodworking tools and items owned by Walter Reeves and Joseph Mark (Mark was original spelling before it changed to Marks). Reeves was Bradford Town Constable and Mark was a railway worker. Donated by their grandson, Bill Marks.

Appointed Lieutenant-Colonel commanding the 36th Peel Battalion in February 1886. Married Emma, daughter of the late Ven. Archdeacon Whitaker, in April 1870. Interred at St. John's cemetery, Tecumseth.
