Mr. Bugden was ordained by the Newfoundland Conference of the Methodist Church in 1914, and in 1915 was married to Miss Isabella Snelgrove, who, with one son, Lieut.-Commander John Bugden RCN, survives him. He retired because of his health in 1950 from his charge in Orillia.
