Description : Funeral services for Norein Jane Taylor, formally Norein Westlake of Bond Head, were held September 18 at the Bond Head United Church.Mrs. Taylor passed away at York County Hospital in Newmarket on Saturday, September 16, after suffering with cancer for a number of years.She is survived by her husband Melville, son Donald George, and daughter Mary Elizabeth.Mrs. Taylor was particularly active in community affairs as a member of both the Bond Head UCW and Beeton LOBA. She was in her 61st year and she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Westlake. She has four sisters and one brother remaining. They are: Mrs. Wiefred Service, Beeton; Mrs. James Fraser, Toronto; Mrs. Andy Grimsby, Bradford; Mrs. Dorris Benton, Tottenham; and William Westlake, R.R. 3. Tottenham. Her brother Henry passed away some time ago.The afternoon service was led by Rev. H. Dahlin of Bond Head United Church and she was buried at the Mount Tagart Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Ernest Hannah, Truman Bell, William Andrews, William Madill, Harry Cross and Harold Rutledge.The ladies of the Beeton LOBA held an evening service for Mrs. Taylor recently with guest soloist Mrs. Emma Martin.Norein was born on the 8th
Concession of Tecumseth Township and she received her formal education at the Beeton Junction School.

Description : One of Bradford's most elderly residents, Mrs. Maud Mary Taylor, passed away at her residence after a brief illlness on Thursday, November 5. She was 89 years of age at the time of her death.Born at Brentwood, England, in 1870, Mrs. Taylor, whose maiden name was Maud Mary Larkin, married the late Edward Charles Taylor at Brentwood in 1904. They moved with their family to Canada in 1914 and lived at Fisher's Corners and Mrs. Taylor taught for a year at Mt. Pleasant School. The family then moved to the Amsterdam settlement across the river and Mrs. Taylor took the position as teacher in the No. 24 King and East Gwillimbury school, a position she held until her retirement at the age of 65 in 1935, when she moved to Bradford. Mr. Taylor died in 1916. One son, Arthur, gave his life in the Second World War. Her only daughter, Mrs. John Harrison (Kathleen) also predeceased her. She is survived by two sons, Harold and Herbert, both of Bradford.A member of Trinity Anglican Church, Bradford, the funeral was from that church on Saturday afternoon with her rector, Rev. E.R. Woolley, conducting the services. Interment was in the cemetery at Christ Church, Holland Landing.The pallbearers were three grandsons, Arthur, David and Donald Harrison, Cecil Dew, Charles Davidson and Fred Gregory.
