"Miss Alida Hill, of 160 Macphedson Ave., Toronto, was critically injured in an auto accident Saturday afternoon when the car in which she was a passenger failed to negotiate the curve at the foot of Holland Landing hill, climbed an embankment and then rolled on the shoulder of the road. The driver of the car, Miss Dora Pepler, 19 Kendall Ave., Toronto, escaped injuries. The injured woman was removed to York County Hospital, Newmarket, where it was found necessary to amputate her right arm. She also suffered from shock. The car is badly wrecked."

"When Southern Ontario residents put away all their snowmobiling equipment and winter clothes, they thought the long, cold winter had ended, but Old Man Winter decided he still had some say in the matter. "Miraculously, the driver of this truck survived. The flat bed tractor trailer had been carrying a load of steel south on Highway 400 when just south of the Highway 88 intersection it spun around and overturned in the west ditch facing northward. The car was demolished, the seat and windshield being forced out."

"Following an accident on Wednesday, April 14, on Highway 88, west of Middletown Rd., a car driven by a Bradford man went into the ditch after police say he tried to pass a car which had stopped to make a left turn. A vehicle driven by Giovanni Capociama, 65, of R.R. 1, Bradford, was travelling west along Highway 88 and had slowed to turn left onto Middletown Rd. According to police, a second westbound car attempted to overtake Capociama on the left, and skidded into the ditch on the west side of Middletown Rd. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, Christopher J. Fawns, 17, of Bradford, and Una Fawns, 16, sustained cuts and bruises. Mr. Fawns was charged by Provincial Constable Lorne Yakiwchuk of the Bradford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, with careless driving and improper passing."
