Commemorative statue of Elizabeth Gwillim, the woman whom the region of Bradford West Gwillimbury was named after. This statue was erected by the Gwillim Group, with help from sculptor Brenda Wainman Goulet, on the corner of John and Barrie Streets in Bradford.

The entertainment at the official unveiling of the Elizabeth Gwillim Simcoe Statue included harpist Diane Park Jones accompanied by the St. David's Women's Welsh Choir from Toronto. They are being conducted by Betty Cullingworth.

The basket of gorgeous red roses provided by Mr. Yu-Chui Park, Ph.D., The Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to be placed at the grave of "Lieutenant M.C. Vipond," at The UN Memorial Cemetery in Busan, Korea. The beautiful arm spray or roses, mums etc. all done in yellow tones was from David, Lorraine and Sarah Mantle.

To the leader of these men of vision, Professor W.H. Day, this memorial has been erected, with the Tourist and Industrial Committee of Simcoe County Council presenting the plaque and municipalities represented on the marsh area contributing the cairn, and today, May 27, 1956, is being unveiled.
