Beloved wife of Gordon Malcho, dear mother of Don and his wife Rhonda and predeceased by Dr. Thomas Malcho. Dear grandmother of Thomas, Ryan, Murray and Hayley. Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 649 Centre St., Mount Albert. Funeral Mass was held at St. John's Chrysostom Churcy, Newmarket, Thursday, June 5, 1986 at 9:30 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Thorold.

Kushner, Ira death

Man killed in boating accident on Holland River. A 34-year-old Toronto man was killed last Tuesday (July 15) in a boating accident just north of the Yonge Street bridge coming into Bradford. Ira Kushner fell from a boat pulling a water skier when the boat's driver swerved to avoid what he thought was an obstacle in the path of the boat and skier. According to York Regional Police, the boat hit a patch of bulrushes, and Mr. Kushner fell overboard and hit his head on the boat's propeller. He was pronounced dead on arrival at York County Hospital in Newmarket. The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m., about one and a half miles northeast of the bridge over the Schomberg (Holland) River. The police investigation is continuing.

Lots on Holland Court will hold new Library, parking lots

"SOME OF the resident of Mason street got together to issue a challenge to all streets in Bradford. They've raised the $250 necessary to purchase a specially-inscribed brick in the new library, in exchange for their donation. They challenge other streets to do the same thing, so the specially-designed wall will have bricks with most streets in town listed."

Library consultants present first report

"A first report has been made by the consultants hired to conduct a feasibility study for a new library.
Roger Jones and George Schlukbier of Fox, Jones and Associates presented their first report to council, and the library board, along with some members of committees involved in planning for the new library.
Librarian Adrienne Price said the report outlined possible interior design, and land use.
Two parcels of town land on Holland Court have been chosen as the library site. The building will tentatively be built to the north of the west lot, with parking to the south.
A final draft of the library feasibility study will be presented at a public meeting tentatively set for Wednesday, August 27."
