Description : The death of Mr. John Boddy, of this village, was referred to last week by nearly all our county exchanges. In our obituary notice we overlooked mentioning the fact that deceased had been a county magistrate for many years, and was also a staunch Conservative and a strong admirer of the late Sir John A. Macdonald. For upwards of thirty years he was the honoured treasurer of the South Simcoe Conservative Association, and in his day rendered valuable service to his party. The immediate cause of his death was an affection of the kidneys.

Synopsis: Age: 73 years, 9 months, 26 days. Born at Old Castle, County Meath, Ireland in 1817. Emigrated to Canada in 1819, and settled on lot 24, concession 5, Tecumseth. Married Margaret Sutherland of West Gwillimbury, and they moved to lot 4, concession 6. Widowed, and married Miss Sharpe of King Township. He had a daughter who married Ingham N. Sharpe, and now lives in West Toronto Junction. Died of a paralytic stroke. Interred at St. John's Cemetery, Tecumseth.

Died of complications of La Grippe, on the farm which she was born on. Youngest daughter of the late Robert Downey, J.P. Married in February, 1871, to Mr. James Bruce. Had a family of three boys and one girl (Willie, Harry, Lillie were mentioned).
Municipality : Community : Bradford Lot : Concession : Description : Age: 63 years, 6 months. Died of a stroke. Born near Hull, England in 1827. Came to Canada with his wife in 1851. Came to Bradford in 1860 as a grain dealer. In 1867, he became involved in the grocery business. Interred at Mount Pleasant cemetery.
Municipality : Community : Bradford Lot : Concession : Description : Age: 87 years, 1 month, 17 days. Born in Mitchellstown, County Cork, Ireland, on September 13, 1804. Came to Canada in 1836 with his parents. After his first wife died, he moved to Holland Landing with his children and married Mrs. Scott, with whom he recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Came to Bradford in 1846, and was a former Councillor and Justice of the Peace there. He is survived by four sons and two daughters. Interred at the Middleton Church burying grounds.
Municipality : Community : West Gwillimbury Lot : 8 Concession : 8 Description : Born December 10, 1813, in Montgomeryshire, North Wales. Emigrated to North America about 54 years ago, stopping in New York, Newmarket, and Bond Head, before moving to lot 8, concession 8 of West Gwillimbury, where he resided until his death. Married Mary Ann Peregrine, of East Gwillimbury, in 1844, who died in 1866, leaving him with eight children, one of whom was two weeks old. He remarried Mrs. Galloway, of East Gwillimbury, in 1867. Remains were taken to the tomb in Newton Robinson.
