Description : Well known former Gilford resident Helen Neilly, 66, died Friday at Toronto General Hospital from a stroke. Mrs. Neilly suffered the stroke July 8 at her home in Englehart, Ont. and was then flown to Toronto General for further medical attention. Sister-in-law of Simcoe County School Board trustee Sam Neilly of Gilford, Mrs. Neilly leaves her husband Louis, sons Scott and Peter, Gilford, daughter Louise, Brampton and Sharon Kostyk, North Bay.Funeral services were held for friends and family on July 19 at Gilford United Church.

Before the turn of the century, the Doolittle Rifle Club and the Neilly team were widely known as marksmen. This picture was taken in the 1890's after the 10 Neilly boys trounced the Barrie Rifle Club by more than 90 points. Description : (Squadron Leader, D.F.C. and Bar, R.C.A.F. Pathfinder Force) Peacefully at the General and Marine Hospital, Collingwood on Sunday, May 31, 1998. Lou Neilly of Minden, and formerly of Englehart and Gilford, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the later Helen. Loving father of Scott, Louise Packer, Peter, and Sharon Kostyk. Dear grandfather of Ashleigh, Brandon and Emily Packer, and Connor Neilly. Dear brother of Carrie, Sam and Bill Neilly and predeceased by Scott and Isabella Neilly. Memorial Service will be held at Gilford United Church, Gilford Wednesday, June 3, 1998 at 7p.m.
