Memorium in the Bradford Witness and South Simcoe News for those who lose their lives in WWI.

Fire chief Harold "Butch" Boyd. This photo accompanied an article about his death at the age of 64 which appeared in the Bradford Witness.

This fire hall was located on Barrie Street between John Street and Joseph Street (shown on a map of Bradford from 1900) where the current post office now sits.

They came to pay tribute to Arthur Evans in Barrie last week at an appreciation night sponsored by the Simcoe Centre Progressive Conservatives. Mr. Evans, with one of his famous campaign photos as a backdrop, thanks the 900 plus friends who came to voice their appreciation. This photo appeared along with an article in the Bradford Witness and was also found in the Bradford Women's Institute Scrapbooks.

Mr. Evans is holding one of the many gifts he received that night, a caricature of himself in cavalier costume while Mr. Evans' wife Audrey, and Simcoe Centre MPP George Taylor look on. This photo appeared in the Bradford Witness along with an article about the evening and both of these were found in the Bradford Women's Institute Scrapbooks.

Bradford's Walter King was 31 years old when this photo was taken in 1914. Mr. King is shown with his new bride Stella Kneeshaw. The wedding took place two days before on the Kneeshaw farm on the 6th line of West Gwillimbury and the couple moved to Mr. King's farm down the road where they lived until 1943. When Mr. King was 95, he lived in retirement on John Street in Bradford.
