Description : Passed on to his heavenly home at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, of Maple Farm, Bradford where he lived all his life. Beloved husband of Ruby (Strasler) for 59 years. He was blessed with children Susan (Ronald) Black of Ottawa, Allan (Heather) of Bradford, and Jean (Richard) Swagerman of West Hill. Dear brother of the late Gordon (late Kay and late Doris) Faris and late Lieutenant Keith Faris. Dear grandfather of Rebecca (Trevor) Cullen, Ruth and Paul Black; Krista (David) White, Holly, Joshua (Caroline), Amanda and Hope Faris; Derek, Joel, Luke and Sarah Swagerman. Dear great grandfather of David and Mark White. Maple Farm was also the home of Mafar Shorthorns and Yorkshires. Murray was a longtime member of Christian Businessmen of Canada. His life verse was Prov. 3:5,6. Friends called at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford for visitation. Funeral Service was held at Springdale Christian Reformed Church, 1466 5th Sideroad, Bradford on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11 a.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Bradford.

Description : Died at the Bond Head Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late William George Faris, and dear mother of Gordon of Rolphton, Ont., and Murray of Bradford, and dear grandmother of Mrs. J. S. Church (Mary Lou) of Ghana, Paul of Toronto, Susan, Allan and Jean, all of Bradford. Resting at the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home, Bradford. Service Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Scotch Settlement Presbyterian Church. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Description : A resident of West Gwillimbury Township since childhood, Mr. Frank L. Brown did not rally from a heart seizure after his return home from attending a meeting held by the congregation of Bradford United Church on the evening of Wednesday, December 2. He was moved to York County Hospital where he passed away on Friday, December 4, at the age of 79. Mr. Brown was born in Whitchurch Township, York County, coming to West Gwillimbury in boyhood. He attended White Rose School in Whitchurch Township and later Mount Pleasant School in West Gwillimbury and there began his life as a farmer, on Concession 10, later in 1931, purchasing the farm on Concession 5, in the Scotch Settlement, where he spent the rest of his life. In 1931 Mr. Brown married Agnes May Patience, in Toronto, who survives him, with their two sons, George and Stanley, both of R.R. 1, Bradford. Also surviving are two brothers, Walter E. Brown and Harry W. Brown, both of R.R. 2, Bradford, and two sisters, Ella (Mrs. Wesley Adair) of Newmarket and Jessie (Mrs. Ivan Metcalfe) of Bradford. He was predeceased by a daughter, Frances, and three sisters. Mr. Brown was a devout member of Bradford United Church and had been an elder of that church for the past twenty-three years. The funeral was held from the church on Monday, December 7, with interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Rev. D. J. Lute conducted the services. The pallbearers were Murray Faris, Walter Lloyd, Clarence Brown, Lorne Metcalfe, Chas. T. S. Evans and Thos. Gardner.

Description : Doris Eileen, daughter of Mr. J. Albert Hand, Toronto, and the late Mrs. Hand, to Gordon Strong, son of Mrs. Faris, Bradford, and the late Mr. W. G. Faris. The wedding took place at High Park Avenue United Church, Toronto. Rev. C. Gardner Ward officiated. The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Ross Dance of Kingston. Mr. Murray G. Faris of Bradford, brother of the groom, was the best man, and the ushers were Mr. Cyril O. Howes and Mr. John S. Graham. Mr. and Mrs. Faris will reside at Rolphton, Ont.

A sister for Derek, Joel and Luke. Seventh grandchild for Hank and Rita Swagerman and twelfth grandchild for Murray and Ruby Faris.

Description : A former Bradford resident passed away April 6 in Peterborough. Mr. Gordon S. Faris, 66, died in Peterborough and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bradford April 9. Mr. Faris was born and educated in Bradford and attended the University of Toronto. Mr. Faris is survived by his wife Doris, son Paul of Scarborough, daughter Mary Lou of Ottawa and brother Murray of R.R. 1, Bradford. Mr. Faris retired in 1973 from Ontario Hydro where he was employed for 40 years as an electrical engineer.
