Description : At home, in her 93rd year. Failing health for eight-ten years, which left her confined to her room for the previous two. Three sons and three daughters: Etta (Mr. B.B. Collings), Bradford; Melville G., Bradford; Norman W., Toronto; Beatrice (Mrs. Emerson Thorpe, Woodville; Ethel (Mrs. George Stewart), Bradford; and Eldon, Toronto. Sister to Mrs. Chisholm of Cleveland, Ohio (last of a family of seven). Predeceased by her husband four years previous, daughters Minnie (Mrs. C. Clappin) and Nell (Mrs. Jas. Balfour), and an infant son, George.
Born near Cornwall, Ontario. Family moved to Angus when she was young, where she met her husband, William G. Waldruff, to whom she was married for 68 years. Married in Allandale. Lived in Angus, Colwell, Barrie, and Allandale, coming to Bradford in 1901. Funeral from home by Rev. F.G. MacTavish of Bradford United Church. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers (son-in-law, two grandsons, and three grandsons-in-law): Emerson Thorpe, Woodville; Norman E. Collings, Bradford; Orin Thorpe, Hamilton; Ken Blevins, Toronto; Gordon Crutcher, Thornhill; and Robt. Riddell, King.

Description : Arthur David Spence, who had lived most of his life in Bradford, passed away at York County Hospital, Newmarket, April 10, 1965, after six weeks' illness. While he never fully recovered from a serious heart attack eleven years ago, he had enjoyed reasonably good health through the years. Born in Bradford, July 26, 1910, he was the son of the late James and Annie Spence. He was educated in the Bradford schools and was for many years with Spence Lumber Co., originally owned and operated by his father and now by his brother, Alex. In 1936 he married Helen Jean Roberts and to this union were born four children, namely Robert (of O.P.P., Bracebridge), David, Linda and Donald, all of Bradford. Surviving also are two brothers, Alex of Bradford and Emerson of Delhi; two sisters, Emily (Mrs. J. Joy of Toronto) and Minnie (Mrs. Archie Hammell) of Bradford. Two brothers, William and Norman, predeceased him. He was a member of Bradford United Church.Funeral services conducted by Rev. D. J. Lute, were held from Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home, April 13, with interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford. Pallbearers were Jas. Church, Keith Noble, Wm. Whiteside, Norman Collings, Albert Roberts and Jas. Downey. Flower bearers were Victor Turner, Fred Miller, F. W. Collings, Chris. Dafos, Oswald Davey and Ted Gapp.

Description : Jacqueline, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Tait of Shanty Bay, to Thomas Benjamin, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman E. Collings of Bradford. The wedding took place at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Barrie. Rev. J. Ferguson officiated. Miss Beverley Douglas of London was maid of honour and the bridesmaids were the bride's sister, Miss Joan Tait, and the groom's sister, Miss Mary Jane Collings. Alastair Sinclair of Newmarket, and formerly of Bradford, was groomsman, and the ushers were also school friends of the groom, Paul Smith of Bradford, George Jackson of Toronto and formerly of Bradford, and Donald Richardson of London. Mr. and Mrs. Collings will reside in London, Ont., the groom having been appointed assistant engineer for Middlesex County.

Dodger Collings of Bradford in his 66th year beloved husband of Jean Blizzard and dear father of Tom of Stratford and Mary Jane (Mrs. J. Buyers) of Melbourne Australia. Also survived by seven grandsons. Dear brother of Kathleen (Jed) (Mrs. K. Blevins) of Toronto and Bernice (Mrs. G. Crutcher) of Markham. Description : After not enjoying good health for the past five years, Mrs. Ellen (Nellie) Collings of Bradford passed away at York County Hospital, Newmarket, on Monday, November 28, 1966, where she was admitted just one week previous. Born in Ottawa 73 years ago, she went to Kerrobert, Sask., as a young girl, where she resided until her marriage to Ernest R. Collings on June 10, 1914, when she moved to Bradford where she resided for the remainder of her life. Up to the time of failing health, Mrs. Collings was a member of Trinity Anglican Church and active in the church choir, quilting club, and a lifetime member of the Women's Auxiliary. She was also a life member of the Women's Institute, and a charter member of the I.O.D.E. and the Bradford Knitting Club. Predeceased by her husband in 1950, she is survived by four sons and three daughters: Mrs. Ellenor Peat of Newmarket, Mrs. Ross Griffith (Anita) of Bradford, Roy A. of Oshawa, Mrs. Gerald Rupke (Margery) of Kettleby, Irwin E., W. Bruce, and Keith R., all of Bradford, 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, Mrs. Emily Foster of Kerrobert, Sask., a sister, and two brothers, Arthur Sutton and Albert Sutton, both of British Columbia. The funeral was held on December 1, 1966, from the Lewis Funeral Home to Trinity Anglican Church. The service was conducted by her rector, Rev. W. H. Warnica. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The pallbearers were Norman Collings of Bradford, Dr. Verdon Foster, V.S., of Fergus, Bob McCague of Sarnia, Jim Church, Orville Hand and Edward Bulpit, all of Bradford.
