Watson was born July 14, 1907 on a farm located in West Gwillimbury at Concession 4, Lot 7 to William John Watson and Ida Jane Milligan Banting. Isobel married Norman Bhain Coutts and raised with him five children: Duncan, Roderick, Karol Anne, Brian and Sharon. The oral history was transcribed in November 2007, shortly before Isobel's death.
