Week-Long Celebrations will start Sunday to mark the centennial of village of Bradford. Mary Kavchak holds a cross-cut saw as she gets set to slice a giant anniversary cake. Many former Bradfordites are expected to attend.
We are pleased, at this time to announce the appointment of Budd Robson to the position of General Manager or our Retail operation. Budd has spend most of his working years in service and retail business, and his continued success in our operation flatter this promotion.
First Bradford Brownies Pack entertained residents at Martingale Villa last week. The 25 girls sand Christmas songs and danced. The club performed on all three floors of the home, so they were pretty tuckered out by the time they finished.
Mathew Kneeshaw, the Simcoe County Board of Education Trustee, was one of the key people in the 112th graduation exercises at Bradford District High School. He presented prizes and diplomas to the graduating students, two of whom are Martha Verhaaff and Nancy Jean Burton. Martha was the junior valedictorian, and Nancy Jean gave the address for the senior class.

Demolition of the old Bradford Arena located at John St. W. and Moore. The arena was built in 1913 and Harvey Curry's father William Curry was the contractor. This picture shows the last of the old Bradford rink in the first week of May, 1956.
