Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair MacDonald of the Scotch Settlement celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday. Friends and relatives honored the couple at a fine get-together.

Spectators marveled at the old time costumes worn by the ladies, which, incidentally, were either artistically sewn or original hand-me-downs.

B-Day (Beard Day) was faced with extreme bravery by Mayor Zyg Fenik (right) and Councillor Bill DePeuter last week. The pair are taking part in the 125th anniversary beard-growing contest. Both parted with their whiskers reluctantly and promised to grow them back as soon as biologically possible. Joe Scotto handled the shaving duties admirably.
