She was for some time the organist in the Presbyterian Church in Bradford. A memorial service was held at Bond Head Anglican Church, of which she had been a life-long member, with Rev. C. R. P. Hearn officating.

Born in Scotch Settlement, attended school at S. S. No. 4 (Scotch Settlement} and Bradford High School. In 1888 married Bessie McKay and farmed until he retired to Aurora in 1918.
