Description : Died instantly at the age of 42 years. A well known farmer, residing at lot 4, con. 8, Essa, near Cookstown. He and a helper, Leonard Houghton, had decided to bury a large rock weighing several tons. Mr. Arnold had just begun his turn in the hole when his helper shouted a warning of movement in the stone. Before anything further could be done, the huge rock fell into the hole and killed Mr. Arnold.
