Description : Died at her home, R.R. 1, Bradford, Ont., after an illness of several months. Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth McDonald. Born on the farm on which she spent her entire life. She attended the Scotch Settlement Presbyterian Church.She is survived by two sisters, Christina and Ada McDonald, both residing at home. Predeceased by her parents and a sister, Dolena, who died about six years ago.The funeral was held at her home Feb. 20th. Rev. E. C. McLarnon was assisted by Rev. Dr. Ross of Woodbridge. Interment Scotch Settlement Cemetery.The pallbearers were relatives and friends of the family, namely: John Lloyd, Nobleton; Norman Walker, Schomberg; Edgar Black, Kettleby; Elwood Gordon, Stayner; Walter Lloyd and Orville Hughes of Bradford.

Description : A lifelong resident of the Cookstown community, passed away in his 84th year, at the home of his nephew M. E. McFadden, publisher of the Cookstown Advocate. He had lived with his nephew for the past eleven years.He was the last surviving member of a family of six, children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McFadden, Irish pioneers of Tecumseth township.

Description : Oasie (Mike) McKinstry, 90, of 83 Holland St. E., Bradford, died Monday Oct. 1, 1984 at the York County Hospital, Newmarket.Son of the late Robert McKinstry and the former Elizabeth Lawson, of Bradford, he was born June 11, 1894 and attended Bradford Public School and Bradford District High School. Mr. McKinstry worked at a munitions factory during the First World War and was also the manager of Bradford Co-op Cold Storage.During the 1920's, Mr. McKinstry was a member of the Bradford Lacrosse Team. He also belonged to the Anglican Church.Surviving are his sister, Dorothy May McKinstry, of Bradford and his niece, Betty Manester, of Toronto. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Mazel, Mrs. Edward McGee.Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St., Bradford. Funeral services were held in the chapel on Thursday, Oct. 4 with Rev. Henry Dahlin officiating. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford.

Bill and Susan Ruffett

Bill and Susan Ruffett of Lefroy eloped on November 29, 1905, and they've been married ever since. The Ruffetts celebrated their 72nd anniversary last week, and more than 100 friends and relatives dropped in. Bill, 92, and Susan, 88, had seven children, 18 grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.

Stewart and Grace Donnelly of Lefroy were guests of honor at a farewell party and presentation on Saturday night at the South Innisfil Community Centre. Master of ceremonies Don McNabb, in a jovial manner, recalled events in the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Donnelly including their community involvement. A presentation of a pair of matching chairs was made on behalf of the large crowd of friends and relatives attending. Sinclair Stevens (MP York-Simcoe) also took the opportunity to recognize the couple's work for the party. The recipients are seen here with Mr. Stevens and Don McNabb(right). The Donnellys will be moving soon to Sundridge.
