Description : Well-known Bradford businessman William Ernest Breen died March 11 at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.Mr. Breen, who was born in Owen Sound, was the son of Ernest W. Breen, who was also born in Owen Sound, and Margaret Hendry, who was born in Toronto.He was married in Newmarket to Marian Moore and resided in Owen Sound, and in Bradford since 1948.Mr. Breen attended Owen Sound Collegiate and the York Engineering School in York, Pennsylvania.A Second World War veteran, Mr. Breen joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939 as a flight engineer, serving until his discharge in 1945.Mr. Breen operated Breen Refrigeration and Appliances in Bradford at 9 Holland St. W. for more than 25 years.He is survived by his wife Marian of R.R. 2, Bradford, a son Ernest W. Breen of London, a daughter Brenda (Mrs. B. Ellis) of Newmarket, and a daughter Margaret Ann, at home.He is also survived by two grandchildren, a brother Gordon Breen of Owen Sound and a brother Stanley Breen of Newmarket.A funeral service, conducted by Rev. Stephen Hershey, was held March 14 at the Lathangue and Skwarchuk Funeral Home in Bradford.Interment followed at Newmarket Cemetery.
