(From the left) Deputy-reeve Milt Hambly, Councillor Sandy Hudson and Reeve Ken Wood of Bradford were present at the opening of the Professor E.A. Smith Natural Resources Educational Centre last Wednesday. The centre is located on the ninth concession east of Highway 11. The 600-acre conservation area will be used to teach students from separate and public school boards about flora and fauna of the surrounding forest.
It was Miss Margaret Davey's special night last Friday at the Bradford Community Centre as about 250 friends gathered to pay her tribute. "Peg" as she is known to her friends, was the clerk-treasurer of Bradford for almost 35 years, retiring last Marsh. Former Mayor Joe Magani in photo with miss Davey referred to her as "the big wheel," and former reeve, mayor and MPP Art Evans said Bradford was in excellent financial shape primarily because her efforts.
In Bradford Presbyterian, Marilyn M. Ritchie was wed to Gordon W. Compton.
Members of the Bradford chapter of the IODE celebrated the 25th anniversary of its founding on Wednesday June 12. The party was held at the home of Mrs. Brock Evans of Barrie St. Charter members of the Bradford chapter are (left to right): Jean Collings, Lena Blackwell, Olive Coombs, Rite Vale, Marjorie Bateman, Mary Spence, Margaret Fallis, Ina McKenzie, Margaret Carson.
