The annual banquet of the first Bradford Girl Guides was held Monday night and featured the awarding of the highest award, the Canada Cord to Cathy Lewis of Bradford. Guide district commissioner Madge Wood congratulates Cathy on her accomplishment.

Opening of Fred C. Cook School
In a school opening ceremony last week at Fred C. Cook senior public school, Mrs. Leone Cook is presented with a bouquet of carnations by the school's pupils as trustee Sam Neilly looks on. An overflow audience attended the official opening.
Cleaning Up Debris After Hailstorm
(From the left) Deputy-reeve Milt Hambly, Councillor Sandy Hudson and Reeve Ken Wood of Bradford were present at the opening of the Professor E.A. Smith Natural Resources Educational Centre last Wednesday. The centre is located on the ninth concession east of Highway 11. The 600-acre conservation area will be used to teach students from separate and public school boards about flora and fauna of the surrounding forest.
