The community was saddened to hear of the death of one of the pioneers of this area and send condolences to her family in the area. Pearl Rebecca Chappel passed away peacefully at Eureka Chalet Retirement, Barrie on Saturday, Jan. 26 Pearl Rebecca Hardy in her 90th year, beloved wife of the lat Harry Chappel. Dear mother of William Chappel and his wife Ethel; Elizabeth (Mrs. Calvin Gibbons) both of Barrie and Shirley (Mrs. Allen Prophett) of Scarborough. Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Complete funeral service at Innisfil Community Church was held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 1pm. Internment [sic] in the spring at 6th Line Cemetery, Innisfil. She was a true pioneer being born in Lefroy and marrie Harry Chappel Oct. 20, 1920 by Rev. Chapley of Stroud at Lefroy. She also had four sisters and one brother born in Lefroy. They were Sarah (Mrs . MarshallAtkinson), Susan (Mrs. Wm. Ruffett), Jack Hardy who was married to Gertrude Everton of Gilford; Georgina (Mrs. Bob Gibbons), Phoebe (Mrs. Frank Chappel). She was the last of that family....

Jack Wilson, 65, of RR3 Tottenham died Monday, Jan. 21, 1985 at his home. Sone of Daniel and Nita Wilson, both of England, he was born July 27, 1920 in Nobleton. He worked as a farmer most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie McLeod, three sons, Harold, Wayne and Brian, one daughter, Brenda, his mother Nita Wilson, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Jan. 24 at the Lathangue and Skwarchuck Funeral Home, Bradford with Rev. Henry Dahlin officiating. Interment Bond Head Cemetery.

Son of Andrew Orr and Jane Campbell, both of Dufferin County, he was born Feb. 16, 1909 in Tecumseth Township. He was married Mar. 8, 1941 in the bride's home to Jean Lisk and has lived on the fifth line of Tecumseth and in Bond Head....Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Donna, Mrs. Andrew Rabiewsky, two grandchildren,three sisters, Marion Craog, of Tornoto, Maida Ritchie, of Beeton and Madeline Porritt, of Gilford and one brother, Wm. Hermine Philipp, 74, of RR2 Newmarket, died Jan. 20, 1985 at York County Hospital. The daughter of Samuel Hagenauer and Karolyn Werderitsch, both of Austria, she was born Nov. 9, 1910 in Austria. She was married in 1929 inCalgary to John Philipp who predeceased her on Aug. 11, 1977. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Churh. Surviving are two daughters, Elsie,Mrs. M. Radis, of Newmarket and Hilda, Mrs. W. Kovac, of Cleveland, Ohio, oneson Hal, of RR2 Newmarket, fiver grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Funeral services will be heldtoday, Wednesday, jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora with Paster Marvic Janz officiating. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford.

Elizabeth Wist, 84, of 200 Holland Court, Bradford, died on Monday, Jan. 14, 1985 in York County Hospital, Newmarket.
The daughter of Joseph and Katherine Ernst, of Yugoslavia, she was born on Apr. 28, 1900 in Yugoslavia.
She was a member of the Holy Martyrs of Japan Roman Catholic Church.
Predeceased by her husband John Wist Sr. and a son Frank, she is survived by her son John Wist Jr. of RR1 Kettleby, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday,January 17 at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Church with Father Vella officiating. Interment Holy Martyrs Cemetery.
