8th Canadian Field Ambulance Officers and NCOs
This image documents the 8th Canadian Field Ambulance at the time of the signing of the armistice ending WWI on November 11, 1918 and can be found in a war photograph album belonging to Lieutenant Colonel Ernest Raymond Selby. The photographs in the album are both original photographs taken by Dr. Selby and copies of official Canadian military photographs. Selby was born in and grew up in the Bradford West Gwillimbury area before moving to Calgary, Alberta. Many of the men pictured were awarded medals in recognition of honour and/or bravery.

Thomas Alexander Nelson (1861-1898) proprietor of the Nelson Foundry in Bond Head, pictured here with his wife, Ellen Pricella (Brown) Nelson. This sepia coloured studio photo was likely taken in the 1880's when bustles were fashionable.

A late Victorian c. 1880 side boar with decorative work, produced in Thomas Kilkenny's Furniture factory. It is owned by his great granddaughter Ruth Booth.
This well preserved match safe, with its Masonic symbols, was moulded in Thomas Nelson's Foundry in Bond Head c. 1870. Marion McKibbon, his granddaughter, presently owns it.
