"Temperatures which dipped below freezing Monday night met resistance from warm water early yesterday, creating what appears to be a grass fire. Icy weather did some damage on the Marsh, but farmers were expecting it. Warmer temperatures are expected later this week."

MUMA - Jonathan Douglas (Jon) - Suddenly as result of an auto accident on Monday, September 12, 1994, John Muma of Bond Head in his 20th year. Beloved son of Allan and Sandie Muma of Bond Head. Dear brother of Kiristin of Bond Head. Dear special friend of Michelle Viaene of Bradford. Dear grandson of Ruth and late Gordon Muma, Fern Hadden of Willowdale and William Hadden of Amherst, N.S. Also survived by many auhts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends called at the Lathangue & Skwarchuck Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St. Bradford. Service was held at the Bradford Baptist Church on Thursday, September 15, 1994 at 2 p.m. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford. Donations to the Asthma Society of Canada would be appreciated.

Beloved husband of Katherine, dear father of John and his wife Mikki and Erica (Mrs. Tom Lenartowicz). Dear grandfather of John-Paul, Michael and Joseph. Friends called at The Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St., Bradford. Funeral Mass was held at the Holy Martyrs of Japan Church, on Monday at 10am. Interment at Holy Martyrs Cemetery, Bradford.

Near Tragedy at West Gwillimbury Bridge

"The washed out bridge on Concession 14, West Gwillimbury, might have claimed the lives of two brothers, Eddie and Paul Renald. Going to the store at Fennells for groceries their car plunged into the swollen stream at the washout and was carried about 100 yards downstream and cast up into the bush a total wreck. The brothers smashed the windshield and managed to crawl out and reach land but one suffered a broken arm and both were badly bruised and cut."

New Canal Bridge Officially Opened by County Officials

Article detailed the opening of the bridge near the Holland Marsh pumphouse which "serves a considerable portion of the Holland Marsh, [and] replaces the old wooden structure which was in a bad state of repair". Officials for Simcoe and York Counties, and King Township attended.
