" Joyce Cairns, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Stanley Cairns of Bradford, graduated from the legal secretary's course this month at the spring convocation at Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology. She was accepted a position with Blake Cassells and Graydon at Commerce Court in Toronto."

"The Bradford D and H Motors Bantams lost a hard fought battle with New Credit in the all-Ontario finals. A gutsy team effort almost captured the championship for the bantams, but they lost the third and final game 5-4. Crossland of Bradford, received the degree of bachelor of arts in sociology on Saturday, May 28 at the spring convocation of McMaster University, Hamilton. Pat will continue her studies at the Institute of Child Study at University of Toronto for the next two years."

The Lucky Ticket

"Ticket number 13 was the lucky one for John Thompson (left) and his wife, June, of Sharon as they collect the keys to the 1977 Cutlass Supreme at the Bradford Blues car draw on Saturday. Mr. Thompson's was the 1,000th ticket picked in the elimination draw. Bob Hamilton of RR 3, Bradford, won the consolation prize of a color television. Winners of $100 each were William Barranger, Gery DePeuter, Elizabeth Gregory, McKinzey Hardware, Wayne Collings, and Charles Breedon, all from Bradford."

Two named for medals

" West Gwillimbury council has nominated Earl Rowe of Newton Robinson to receive one of the jubilee medals being minted by the federal government in recognition of Queen Elizabeth's 25 years on the throne. Mr. Rowe is a former MP and MPP and he was Ontario's lieutenant-governor from 1963 to 1968. Bradford council also recently nominated lawyer Charles Evans, former Warden of Simcoe County to receive a jubilee medal."
