Description : A well known and lifelong resident of Newton Robinson community, Mrs. Thomas Robinson, passed away peacefully at Inniswood Private Hospital on Saturday, November 14, 1964, after several years of failing health. She was in her 87th year. The daughter of Richard Bell of Tecumseth Township and his wife, Deborah Carter, she attended the public and continuation school at Newton Robinson for a number of years. She was employed in the tailoring business until she became the bride of Thomas Robinson on Nov. 7, 1900. Mrs. Robinson was devoted to her family and to St. Luke's Anglican Church, Pinkerton.During World Wars One and Two, she gave much of her time to Red Cross work and was honoured by a life membership.Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her loss, three daughters and three sons, Edna (Mrs. Fred Welch), Barrie, Mildred (Mrs. Wm. McLaren), Grand Bend, Marjorie (Mrs. Ken Bulman), Alliston, John of Newton Robinson, Thomas of Edmonton and William of Sudbury; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Two sons and a daugher predeceased her.The funeral service was held in St. John's Anglican Church, Cookstown, conducted by her Rector, Rev. Mr. Howard, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.The pallbearers were six grandsons, Keith, Wayne, and Gerald Robinson, Frank Packard, Doug Keating and Don Robson; the flower bearers were Russel Copeland, Earl Bell, John Feltis, Ted Houston, Lawrence Copeland and Bob Dorsey.Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Edmonton, Toronto, Aurora, Bradford, Schomberg, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Barrie, Grand Bend, Beeton, Bolton, Weston, Tottenham, Alliston and Stroud.

Description : The tragic accident which took the life of Grant McKnight of Bradford was reported in last week's issue of this newspaper.Grant McKnight was born in Bradford and attended Bradford public and high schools before beginning work as a driver with Mel's Express. In this occupation he made a wide circle of friends, as he also did during the '62-'63 hockey seasons as trainer for the Mel's Express Intermediate A" hockey club Ontario Intermediate Champions. In this wide circle as at home Grant McKnight was popular among his friends.He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Arden McKnight of Bradford six brothers Lawrence Russell Grenville Morley Jimmy and Meryle and three sisters Doreen Ardelene and Judy.The funeral was held from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home Bradford to Bradford Presbyterian Church on Saturday December 19 where services were conducted by the minister Mr. F. Reed. Interment was in Angus Memorial Cemetery.Five brothers and a cousin acted as pallbearers namely Lawrence Russell Jimmy Morley and Meryle McKnight and Gary Elliott."

Description : The community for many miles around was shocked and deeply saddened Monday, January 4, 1965, to learn of the sudden passing of Dr. R. W. Male of Tottenham.Robert W. Male, M.D., F.C.C.P., M.C.G.P., was born on January 4, 1907, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Male of Toronto. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1933 and came to Tottenham in June 1934, remaining until September 15, 1940. The doctor was a squadron leader in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1940 to 1945. On leaving the air force he spent five years on the staff of Toronto Hospital, Weston, and then returned to open his practice in Tottenham until the time of his death. From 1951 to 1954 Dr, Male was with the parthenogenogy clinic, OPD, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto. On June 22, 1961, he became a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. he was a member of the Medical association of Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston, radiology department, interpeting miniature chest film.Dr. Male was a friend to all, highly respected and loved by many. Few men had his qualities as a doctor, with devotion to his patients, and he is mourned deeply by people in all walks of life.Left to mourn the loss of a loving husband, devoted father and brother are his wife, Nora (Burns), son Thomas, in his last year of medicine, and brother , Wilfred. He was predeceased by a brother, Leslie, in November, 1964.The funeral was held on January 6, at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tottenham, with Rev. Holmes conducting the service.The pallbearers were Messers. Dr. Pitcher, Dr. Irvin, John C. McKenna, George Munnings, Gordon Westerby, Ken Puckering.Flower bearers were Pete Urbanski, Jack Culgin, William Campbell, Don Fleck, Joe Belford.Interment was made in Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto.The very large profusion of floral tributes spoke silent testimony in which the deceased was held in the surrounding community and also among his many associates.
