Description : The very sudden passing of Mrs.Beverley Woodcock on Sunday, February 19, at Newmarket Hospital came as a great shock to her family and to her many friends in Bradford where she had resided for almost her entire life. Mrs. Woodcock had apparently been as usual until the Thursday morning preceeding her death when she was stricken with a heavy stroke from which she did not regain conciousness. She had attended a social event in town the previous evening and Thursday morning was eating breakfast when stricken.Born at Holland Landing nearly 66 years ago, Addie Ellerby came with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ellerby, and other members of the family, to Bradford when she was five years of age. She attended school here and was a dressmaker here before marrying Beverley Woodcock of Bradford, about thirty-seven years ago, who survives her with their family of four sons and three daughters, namely Elmer of Bradford; Marshall of Willowdale; Merle, Leeson, Mrs. Chas. Gillis (Birdie), all of Bradford; Mrs. Donald Bolton (Marie) of Tottenham, and Jeanne at home. Thirteen grandchildren and two brothers, David and Jack Ellerby, both of Toronto, also survive.Mrs. Woodcock was well known and very popular among townspeople. She was a faithful worker in women's organizations, especially in the W.A. of Trinity Anglican Church, Bradford Women's Institute, and Bradford Knitting Club. To her family she was a devoted wife and mother. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home with interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford. The services were in charge of Rev. W. S. Johnson of Trinity Anglican Church, of which she was a member. The pallbearers were her four sons and her two sons-in-laws, namely Elmer, Marshall, Merle, and Leeson Woodcock, Charles Gillis and Donald Bolton.
