Though long a sufferer from arthritis, Mrs. Crawford was able to manage her household duties and was about as usual until July 1, when she fell in her home and broke several ribs. She did not appear to rally following this fall and on Sunday she was in such poor condition that she was moved to hospital where she passed away the following day.Mrs. Crawford was born in Sundridge, her maiden name being Sarah Agnes Wight. Mr. and Mrs. Crawford had spent a number of years farming in West Gwillimbury before accepting the position as managers of Britannia Farm.Although a sufferer from a rheumatic condition and having experienced the sorrow of the death of her only son, Jack, in 1939, Mrs. Crawford was one of the happiest and most cheerful ladies, as well as most kindly. The deceased is survived by her husband and three nieces. One of these, Miss Eva Brennan, left motherless as a child, was raised by Mrs. Crawford, and was regarded as a daughter in the home. The funeral was held from her late residence on Wednesday afternoon, with her minister, Mr. McLarnon, of the Presbyterian churches, conducting the services. Interment was in St. John's Presbyterian Cemetery. The pallbearers were former neighbours, namely, Morris Moriarty, Wesley Simmons, Jack Prosser, Geo. McDonnell, Fred Hambly and Alex Riley.
