Description : Early Friday morning, March 26, 1954, death came suddenly to Edward James Cronan of Cedar Brae, Ont.Mr. Cronan was born at Deerhurst in 1871, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cronan, and lived in the township until some twenty-eight years ago, when he moved to the Sutton district.Sixty years ago he married Jane Anne Mooney, who passed away in 1921, leaving a family of two sons and two daughters: Joseph, Charles, Alice and Elizabeth. In 1932, Alice Cronan, R.N., passed away in New York.Mr. Cronan was a kind neighbour, this being evident by the large attendance at the Kilkenny Funeral Home. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, where the funeral mass was sung by Rev. McMahon of Virginia, assisted by Rev. F. R. McGinn of Bradford and Rev. F. McGoey of Schomberg. Interment was in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bradford.The pallbearers were his four grandsons, Harold, Lewis, John and Francis Cronan, and two nephews, Joseph Mooney and Wilfred Murphy.Friends gathered from Toronto, Brampton, Guelph, Hamilton, Cedar Brae, Sutton, Belhaven, Keswick, Barrie, Colgan, Stroud, as well as local points.
