Description : Clarence Lagerquist, former Bradford photographer, died December 16 in the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. The Lagerquists left Bradford in 1974 to live in Kenora, Ontario.The couple moved to Bradford after Mr. Lagerquist sold his photographic business in Richmond Hill. A skillful photographer, Mr. Lagerquist operated a photo studio in the town and took many photographs for The Bradford Witness. Before moving, he sold much of his equipment to Lee Winterkorn who operates the Sheran Studio on Barrie St.Mr. Lagerquist was an active member of the Bradford Lions Club, transferring from the Richmond Hill Lions Club.Frederic William Clarence Lagerquist was born at Shen-si Province, China, June 17, 1898. He is survived by his wife the former Irene Wootten, one son Clare, Rivervale, New Jersey, one daughter Frida (Mrs. John Maunder), Kenora, two grandchildren, Karen and Irene.Surviving are four sisters, Grace, Yorkville, Ill., Evelyn Macomb, Ill., Viola, New Port Richey, Florida and Hannah, Camrose, Alberta; one brother, Conrad of Toronto. He was predeceased by one brother, Paul.Mr. Lagerquist received his education in China and at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill. He owned and operated his own photographic studio in Toronto, Richmond Hill and Bradford.He came to Kenora from Bradford in 1974 and was a member of St. Alban's Cathedral.Funeral services were held December 18 at St. Alban's Cathedral. The Very Rev. R. E. Lundy officiated and burial was in Lake of the Woods Cemetery.Pallbearers were Bud Appelle, Harry Henfrey, Al Holliday, Jim Tooke, Clayton Nolan and Harry Sparling.There was one honourary pallbearer, Bert Downie.
