Description : Peacefully passed away, surrounded by love, on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, in his 80th year. Son of the late James and Mae Crossland. After a brave fight, Waldie is finally reunited with his beloved late wife Doris (Henderson). Much loved father of Diane Brood (Jamie), Kathy Smith (Barry), and Pat Counter (Doug). Cherished grandfather and pappa of Joel Filliol and his wife Natasha, Charlie Broad-McPhail, Kristin and Kaelyn Crossland-Smith, Jesse, Nathaniel, and Lindsay Counter. Brother to Ernest Crossland of Newmarket and James Crossland of Toronto. Waldie was a Lifetime Member and Past President of the Bradford Lions Club and was honoured as a 2001 Bradford West Gwillimbury Volunteer of the Year. After many years as a prize-winning dairy farmer in Simcoe County, Waldie had a very successful 24 year career in Real Estate, retiring to spend more time travelling the world with his beloved wife, improving his cottage on Dickie Lake in Muskoka, and supporting his grandchildren's activities and accomplishments. Waldie's zest for life and his generosity of time and spirit will always be cherished, and his love will live on in our hearts forever. Friends may call at the Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Road, Bradford for visitation on Wednesday 7-9 p.m., Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service at Bradford United Church on Friday May 25, 2001 at 11 a.m. Interment Aurora Cemetery.
