Wooden Bench Plane

A bench plane made largely of wood with a metal blade. It would be used for shaping wood or smoothing a wood surface in woodworking/carpentry.

PPart of a collection of woodworking tools and items owned by Walter Reeves and Joseph Mark (Mark was original spelling before it changed to Marks). Reeves was Bradford Town Constable and Mark was a railway worker. Donated by their grandson, Bill Marks.

Pin given out as part of fundraising for the Bradford Public Library. Fundraising was run in order to help raise money to build a new library, which was the library location (100 Holland Court) that finished construction in 1988.

"This Local History Room was furnished by the Lions Club of Bradford to Commemorate the visit of Judge Brian Stevenson of Calgary President of the International Association of Lions Clubs on the occasion of their 50th anniversary October 9. 1987."
