"This week's photo, submitted by Jim Catania of Church Street, shows the Bradford Brass Band in about 1928, on the Speziali Farm on Bathurst Street, now known as Jamaica Farm. "Following an accident on Wednesday, April 14, on Highway 88, west of Middletown Rd., a car driven by a Bradford man went into the ditch after police say he tried to pass a car which had stopped to make a left turn. A vehicle driven by Giovanni Capociama, 65, of R.R. 1, Bradford, was travelling west along Highway 88 and had slowed to turn left onto Middletown Rd. According to police, a second westbound car attempted to overtake Capociama on the left, and skidded into the ditch on the west side of Middletown Rd. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, Christopher J. Fawns, 17, of Bradford, and Una Fawns, 16, sustained cuts and bruises. Mr. Fawns was charged by Provincial Constable Lorne Yakiwchuk of the Bradford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, with careless driving and improper passing."

"This is the location of the new Bank of Commerce the way it looked in 1915. At this time the bank was named Standard Bank and was located a bit further west. Around 1920, the bank branch moved to the corner of Barrie and Holland Streets. The buildings in the picture are a laundry and the post office."

"A large crowd was on hand for the 15th annual graduation exercises held at Sir William Osler School last Thursday. Thirty seven grade eight students received their graduation diplomas. The graduation diplomas were presented by the principal, Mel Mitchell and teacher Jim Breen. A number of other awards were also presented. Winner of the penmanship award, presented by Miss Ethyle Breedon, was Pamela Barnes. The citizenship award, donated by the Imperial Daughters of the Empire, was Kevin Horner. The award was presented by Mrs. June Brown. The Tec-We-Gwill Women's Institute Trophy for English, presented by Mrs. Bruce Keffer went to Douglas Jessop. He also won the Fisher's Corner Old Boy's Trophy for general proficiency, presented by Mrs. Orville Hughes. The valedictorian address was made by Jan McQuiggan.
