Description : Mr. Dudgeon, who was 70, passed away at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia.The son of David Dudgeon and Mary Ethel Ledlow, John Ledlow Dudgeon was born in Whittington, Dufferin County on January 12, 1911. He was married on May 3, 1934 to Muriel Ann McCutcheon at Corbetton and is survived by her. Mr. Dudgeon attended public school in Whittington, and high school in Mimico. He was a respected and popular chief of the Bradford police department from 1963-76 before retiring. Mr. Dudgeon was also a member of the United Church. He is survived by daughters Mary Elizabeth Graham of Bradford, and Patricia S. Ploder of Holland Landing, and five grandchildren: David Graham, Debra Graham, Kelly Graham, Denise Ploder, and Maureen Ploder. He is predeceased by a brother Donald Dudgeon and was the beloved uncle of Joan (Dudgeon) Feidler and John Dudgeon of Toronto. Friends and relatives paid their respects at the Lathangue and Skwarchuk Funeral Home, with a funeral service conducted by Rev. Kenneth Barker taking place at 1 p.m., Monday, December 28 including a police honour guard.Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orangeville in the spring. Friends and relatives attended the funeral service from London, Orillia, Toronto, Orangeville, and Collingwood. Pallbearers were Elmer Coleman, George Simmonds, Spence Moore, Henry Bell, Wm. Blanche, Jim Thompson. Flower bearer was Eric Wright and hat bearer was Bruce Davis.

Description : Mrs. Wesley Banting of Toronto passed away early Sunday morning, June 28, in her 80th year, at the home of her brother, Ferris Donnell. Mrs. Banting was the wife of the late Wesley Banting, who were former residents of Cookstown. Left to mourn the loss of a loving mother are Mrs. L. Hariot (Louise), Mrs. G. Young (Rhoda), Frank and John, all of Toronto; Donnell of Foote's Bay, and Clara Banting of Timmins. Two brothers, Ferris Donnell of Toronto and H. G. Donnell of Cookstown, and one sister, Mrs. R. H. Sim, Toronto, also survive. The service was at the Turner and Porter Funeral Home, 436 Roncesvalles Ave., Toronto, on Wednesday, July 1. Interment at Lewis' Cemetery, Cookstown. Thirty-four relatives and friends attended the short service at Lewis' Cemetery, when the Rev. Mr. Marsh of Toronto conducted the service.

Emma Elizabeth (Dales) James, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 26., 1985 at the York Central Hospital, Richmond Hill. Wife of the late Earle Oswell James, she is survived by Elwood and Eileen, of Keswick, grandchildren Keith, Prince Albert, Sheila Recoskie, of Pettawawa, Christine Mackey, of Bramalea, Terry, of Point Gatineau, Ronald, of Bradford, Clarence and Weslene, of Toronto, Larry, of Toronto, Ruby os Sault Ste. Description : The passing of William Henry Breedon at Toronto General Hospital on Friday, March 2, in his 28th year, was a sad loss to his family and to the community in which he had spent his life. The young man had not enjoyed robust health and it was known that an illness which normally would not be regarded as serious to many people might be very dangerous to him, therefore when he became ill with a heavy cold every precaution was taken and he was moved to hospital, but to no avail. He passed away within a few days. Born at Bond Head on September 29, 1928, a son of Nat and Mary Sutherland Breedon, William Breedon had lived all his life at Bond Head, as his parents have done. He attended school in the village and was a member of Bond Head United Church and took a great interest in the work of that church. In his home he was a devoted son.He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Jack and Joe, and a sister, Ann.The funeral was held from his late home on Monday of last week, with the services being conducted by Rev. R. Love, Minister of Bond Head United Church, assisted by Rev. Lee of Schomberg. Interment was in the Bond Head Cemetery. The pallbearers were William Brethet, Bud Brown, Brian Jackson, Leonard King, Wallace Reynolds and Wilson Stoddart. Beautiful floral tributes were received from Bond Head Church and Sunday School, Dunkerron Church, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Bond Head School, Dunkerron School, and community relatives, neighbours and other friends. The funeral was attended by friends from Toronto, Brampton, Newmarket, Gormley, Newtonbrook, Alliston, Bradford, Beeton and Schomberg.

Description : A life-long resident of Bradford, Alexander W. Spence of 155 Barrie St. died in Wellesley Hospital, Toronto, on February 28. Mr. Spence, 72, owned and operated Spence Lumber on Bridge St. He served on the former Bradford School Board and on the Bradford Council for several years. He was active in the conservation association, served as a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the United Church. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 3 in the Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Chapman officiating. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Surviving are Mr. Spence's wife, the former Mary Brady; one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Betty) Noble of Bradford; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Hammel of Bradford; one brother, Emerson of Delhi and three grandchildren, Douglas, Ronald and Barbara.Three brothers and one sister, William, Norman, Arthur and Emily are predeceased.
