"Bradford West Gwillimbury Public Library is on the move! Saturday, April 30, 2011 will be the last day we are open to the public. Doors will be closed at our current location as of Monday, May 2, 2011. Due dates on all materials will be extended and no fines will be applied during the closure. Doors will be open to the public at our new location, 425 Holland St. West, on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. All items are to be returned to our new location. As sad as we are to leave our current location we are excited about all the opportunities to come. We welcome you to join us for our Grand Opening Events happening throughout the month of June. "The new Act respecting the regulations of Public Libraries calls for a meeting on the second Monday in January for the election of a Board of Directors. Accordingly a meeting of the members of the Bradford Public Library was recently held in Mr. T.W.W. Evans' office." ...

This portrait is of A.N. Scarrow, and was featured alongside members of the Model School Board including Rev. F. Smith, E.P. Snow, James Bemrose, John Elliott, and Samuel Martin. Scarrow was the principal of the Public and Model Schools from 1902, and was President of the Bradford Library Board.
Photograph of Ethel Day, wife of Professor W.H. Day and librarian of Bradford Public Library from 1936 - 1953. She was also the mother of Ida Day Smith, former librarian, whom she took over from in 1936. Mrs. Day was the sole librarian and worked originally a room on the second floor of T.W.W. Evans law office at 21 Holland St. West, then in the late 1940s, moved to a room above the fire hall on Barrie Street. She hand-wrote all records, and was librarian until her death on November 23, 1953.
