Description : Although in failing health for a number of years, Mrs. Alice Arnold had been able to be about her home and garden until she suffered a fracture to her arm at the shoulder as a result of a fall in her home about a couple of weeks ago. She was moved to York County Hospital, where she passed away last Wednesday.Mrs. Arnold was the former Alice Jane McAfee, and was born in West Gwillimbury in August 1875.About 61 years ago she married the late Randolph Arnold, of Ivy. Mr. Arnold passed away two year after their marriage, and their only daughter, Lulu, died at the age of 25.During her early life Mrs. Arnold was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Coulson's Hill, and during her long period of residence in Bradford she was a member of the Bradford Presbyterian Church. She lived a very quiet, retired life, visited by a few friends who were very kind in looking after her welfare. A nephew, Dalton Meher of Bradford, and a niece, Wilmia Meher of Cookstown, and cousins are her only surviving relatives.The funeral was held from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, with her minister, Rev. H. P. Maitland, conducting the services. Interment was in St. John's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill.The pallbearers were Messrs. Frank Allan, Walter King, T. H. Gardner, Dalton Meher, Lorne McAfee and Homer Barwal, the latter two of Toronto. The flower bearers were Messrs. Mel Law, Norman Bowles, T. Martin, Harold Wood and Frank Meher.
