Description : Mr. England had been a resident here for but a year and a half but as manager of the meat department in the supermarket he was well, and favourably, known as an obliging, efficient, and friendly business man. To those who knew him as a husband and father, esteem for him was of the highest. The big events of the day in the lives of little Tommy and wee Marnie were the goings and comings of their father. They escorted him as far as it was safe for tiny children to return alone, as he went to work, and rushed to meet him upon his return.Mrs. England was recovering from a minor operation in Newmarket hospital when the tragedy occured and the sad news was broken to her in the hospital. She asked that Mr. England's father be notified at his home in Owen Sound. Mr. England Sr. and other relatives came at once and took her from the hospital and got the two children and took them to Owen Sound. The family had lived very quietly here and their circle of friends was not large but everyone who knew them as an exceptionally nice young couple and their children, who were better acquainted in the neighbourhood than their parents, were loved by all the neighbours. It is indeed sad that this nice family has been divided by such a tragedy. The sympathy of Bradford people is extended to Mrs. England, Tommy and Marnie, aged 5 and 3, in the tragic death of a good husband and a devoted father.Mr. England's funeral was held in Owen Sound on Saturday afternoon.
