Concession 6, West Gwillimbury, in a neighbourhood where throughout the years he was held in highest esteem. Though a sick man in recent months he remained on the farm of his birth to the end.As a boy he attended No. 3 school in the Scotch Settlement, and as a man his interest in this school continued. He acted as a trustee and as secretary of S.S. No. 3 for many years. Before Church Union he was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Bond Head and later was a member and an elder in the United Church.Mr. West is survived by his wife; two sons, Herbert at home and Harold of West Gwillimbury near Pinkerton, a daughter, Mrs. Robt. Stafford (Evelyn) of Tecumseth Township; and one sister, Mrs. N. A. Houghton (Laura) of Victoria, B.C. A daughter, Helen, predeceased him.The funeral was held on Friday afternoon, June 10, with service in Newton Robinson United Church. The services were taken by the minister, Rev. F. W. Newell. Interment was in Bond Head Cemetery.The pallbearers were four nephews and two neighbours of the deceased, namely, Kenneth West, James West, Earl Jessop, Alf. Houghton, Robert Westlake and Robert Sutherland.

Description : One of the oldest residents of Churchill, Mrs. James E. Miscampbell, passed away on Saturday, June 4, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, to where she had been moved a few days previously after suffering a stroke.The former Mary Lucretia Lynn, she was in her 86th year and was born in Churchill on September 10, 1869, a daughter of the late John Lynn and Catharine Tyrie. Her entire life was spent in the village.Mrs. Miscampbell was an Anglican. Her husband predeceased her, in June 20, 1937, and also one daughter, Mrs. Wilfred Banting (Florence) of Toronto. The only surviving member of the immediate family is a daughter, Mrs. Alberta Christian, of Churchill.The funeral on Tuesday, June 7, was from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home here with service conducted by Rev. Lionel F. Rowe of St. Peter's Anglican Church. Interment was in St. Peter's Anglican Church Cemetery, Churchill.Pallbearers were all neighbours of the deceased: Robert Campbell, Sherman Todd, William Duncan, George Averill, Lorne Matchett and Robert Hunter.
