Description : A life-long resident of West Gwillimbury, Mrs. W. J. Faris passed away at her home, following a brief illness, on Saturday, December 11.Mrs. Faris was born at Gilford, 78 years ago, a daughter of the late William and Eliza Nesbitt. She spent her early life at Gilford and in 1901 married the late William James Faris. During the first years of their married life Mr. and Mrs. Faris resided in the Scotch Settlement before moving to the farm on which they spent the rest of their lives.Mrs. Faris was a member of Bradford Presbyterian Church and an Honorary Member of the W.M.S. of that church.The deceased is survived by three sons and three daughters, namely, Gilbert of Nobleton; Clarence of Cedarburg, Wis.; Wilfred at home; Mrs. Howard Constable (Dorothy) of Orillia; Mrs. Grenville Halbert (Mildred) of Newton Robinson; and Mrs. Jack Went (Marjorie) of Orillia; eleven grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Hughes of Cookstown and Mrs. Geo. F. Bowles of Bradford. She was predeceased by one granddaughter, Sharon Constable; one sister, Mrs. McCullough (Annie); and seven brothers, George D., James H., Wm. John, Thos Henry, Robert F., Wellington and Edwin.Of a quiet and home loving disposition, Mrs. Faris' interests were with her family during recent years. Her family was devoted to her and the old home has been visited regularly by them and their families.The funeral was held from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home on Monday afternoon to Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. A. C. G. Muir, Presbyterian Church moderator.The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, namely, William Bowles, Grenville Hughes, Emerson Faris, Dalton Banting, Matthew Meher and Herschell Nesbitt.
