Description : Mrs. Helen Emelia Plesa died at her home, 74 Howland Ave., Toronto, on Wednesday, January 18, following several years of ill health as the result of a stroke. She was 73 years of age.Born in Vienna, Austria, Mrs. Plesa was married in Czechoslovakia. Mr. and Mrs. Plesa came to Canada in 1930, first settling in Alberta, and later residing in Chatham, Ontario, and Montreal. In 1945 they came to Bradford where they resided for some time with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Vdovjak.Mrs. Plesa was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Mrs. Steve Vdovjak (Elizabeth), and one son, John Plesa of Montreal.The funeral was held on Friday afternoon from Bradford United Church. The services were in charge of Rev. John Horarik, assisted by the minister of the local Evangelical Lutheran congregation, Rev. A. Brondos. Interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford.The pallbearers were family and church friends, namely, Paul Sadlon, Jr., M. Masin, Paul Kolarik, Sr., S. S. Duga, Paul Placko, Sr., and S. Duga, Sr.
