Description : A well known and esteemed resident of West Gwillimbury Township, Mrs. Weston J. Hambly, passed away in York County Hospital on Thursday of last week, January 24. On the last day of October last year Mrs. Hambly, who up to that time had enjoyed good health, suffered a stroke, and she had been a hospital patient since that time. Pneumonia was the immediate cause of death.Born at Craighurst, Mrs. Hambly's maiden name was Isabella Firth. She spent her younger years in that neighbourhood, coming to West Gwillimbury about forty-five years ago when she married the late Weston J. Hambly, a life-long resident of the township.Mrs. Hambly was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Coulson's Hill, and of the W.M.S. of that church. She also took an interest in the work of the Women's Institute. Mr. Hambly died five years ago, and Mrs. Hambly had resided on the farm on
Concession 12 of the township with her son, Milton, until moved to the hospital last fall. As well as her son, Mrs. Hambly is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert Leonard (Amelia) of Schomberg.The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon from the Lathangue-Kilkenny Funeral Home in Bradford, with interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill. In the absence of her minister, the services were conducted by Rev. A. C. G. Muir of Barrie.The pallbearers were neighbours and nephews of the deceased, namely, John Kneeshaw, Ernest Kneeshaw, Everett Kneeshaw, Joe Hambly, John Hambly and Sam Hambly.
