A stooke loader and crew at the Crake Farm on Highway 88 and the 10th sideroad. The wagon was pulled by horses down the field and stooked grain was put on the conveyor and loaded on wagons. Cliff Crake is the 5th man on the left in the back row.

The United church is located on Barrie Street. This church was built around 1865 and uses the Gothic style of architecture. It is the oldest surviving church in town. This building may have been designed by John Howard, a famous architect in Toronto who designed churches and public buildings resembling this one. The Sunday School room at the back of the present church was the first church built in 1836. Originally this was a Methodist Church. This height of land on the right bank of Fraser Creek was the site where Governor Simcoe’s party stayed overnight September 28 and 29, 1793.

Sir Francis Bond Head (1793-1875) was the Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada from 1835-1838, and in this time he sent a militia to squash the 1837 Rebellion, led by William Lyon Mackenzie, at Montgomery's Tavern.

Photo was taken near the Bradford Pump House at the junction of the canal and the Holland River near Hwy. 11. The pumps were flown in from Western Canada by the Armed Forces, arranged by Mr. Stoddart. A tractor was used to run the pump. Water was pumped from the flooded land over the dyke and into the canal from where it flowed along the Holland River and into Cook's Bay.
