Description : Bohoniuk, 25-year-old Ukranian, of Toronto, was drowned in the Holland Marsh irrigation canal, at the point where the canal skirts the rear of Mr. J. W. Wilson's farm. He had arrived in Bradford two days before and secured work with Anglo del Zotto and F. Bollsanelo, market gardeners. Having finished work, he decided to bathe in the canal. When he did not appear for supper, a search was instituted, police were called, and eventually his body was found in about nine feet of water. The body was removed to the undertaking rooms of T. Kilkenny & Son, Bradford. Coroner Dr. J. A. Cummings did not feel that an inquest was necessary.The brother of the dead man had the body removed to Toronto for burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation at the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte, then to the Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham, for visiting and service, Rev. Graham McLeod and Rev. Ted Colwell officiating. Rested at Lathangue & Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe St., Bradford. Service was held in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment Newmarket Cemetery.

Description : The passing of William Henry Breedon at Toronto General Hospital on Friday, March 2, in his 28th year, was a sad loss to his family and to the community in which he had spent his life. The young man had not enjoyed robust health and it was known that an illness which normally would not be regarded as serious to many people might be very dangerous to him, therefore when he became ill with a heavy cold every precaution was taken and he was moved to hospital, but to no avail. He passed away within a few days. Born at Bond Head on September 29, 1928, a son of Nat and Mary Sutherland Breedon, William Breedon had lived all his life at Bond Head, as his parents have done. He attended school in the village and was a member of Bond Head United Church and took a great interest in the work of that church. In his home he was a devoted son.He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Jack and Joe, and a sister, Ann.The funeral was held from his late home on Monday of last week, with the services being conducted by Rev. R. Love, Minister of Bond Head United Church, assisted by Rev. Lee of Schomberg. Interment was in the Bond Head Cemetery. The pallbearers were William Brethet, Bud Brown, Brian Jackson, Leonard King, Wallace Reynolds and Wilson Stoddart. Beautiful floral tributes were received from Bond Head Church and Sunday School, Dunkerron Church, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Bond Head School, Dunkerron School, and community relatives, neighbours and other friends. The funeral was attended by friends from Toronto, Brampton, Newmarket, Gormley, Newtonbrook, Alliston, Bradford, Beeton and Schomberg.

Description : One of the Sault's earliest and most prominent businessmen, Henry P. Broughton, passed away at the Plummer Memorial Hospital late Thursday afternoon after a week's illness. Mr. Broughton, who had celebrated his 81st birthday last June, was born in Bradford, Ontario, and came to the Sault in 1900. He graduated in pharmacy from the University of Toronto in 1898. He worked in Montreal for a short time before coming to the Sault. His first business stand was a counter in a dry goods store, but with a short time he had purchased a business block and opened his own pharmacy. Broughton's Pharmacy has been in business in its present location, 482 Queen East, since 1901, and is the oldest established Sault business still going under the same name. A faithful member of Central United Church, Mr. Broughton joined 57 years ago when he first came to this city. He had been an elder of the church for many years. The late Mr. Broughton was always active in sports. During his younger days he played lacrosse at Bradford. After coming here he played tennis, winning the city championship many times. When he was 50 years old he defeated his son Alan for the city tennis championship. This was his last game of tennis. He then turned to golf and enjoyed that game until a year ago. Mr. Broughton was also an ardent curler, and has held practically every trophy in the Sault Curling Club.A prominent Mason, Mr. Broughton was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge of Ontario, a Past Master of Keystone Lodge AF and AM, and was the Canadian representative to the Grand Lodge of Kansas. For many years he was president of the St. Mary's River Boat Club, chairman of the Parks Board, and a member of the Ontario Pharmaceutical Council. Mr. Broughton is survived by his wife, the former Mary Elizabeth Young; one son, Alan Y. Broughton; two granddaughters, Beverley and Barbara Broughton, all of this city; and a twin sister, Miss Ellen Broughton of Newmarket. He was predeceased by one brother, Robert, a druggist in Newmarket., and two sisters, Misses Vida and Jane Broughton. Funeral services will be conducted from Langstaff's Funeral Chapel at two o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. E. L. Bishop and Rev. J. W. Dudgeon in charge. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
