Article featuring the centennial anniversary of the Bradford Witness's merged partner, the South Simcoe News. "One hundred years ago, in 1865, the first issue of The South Simcoe News was published in Bradford and that is the centennial anniversary being marked by this issue of The Bradford Witness and South Simcoe News, but newspaper life in this town began before 1865."
This collection of newspaper articles is based on the Office Window column from the Bradford Witness & South Simcoe Times. This column covers a variety of topics, from daily events to local history tidbits. They also give insight into the content of the newspapers, great for further research. Currently, editions from the year 1964 are digitized.
"To help solve the housing problem for the thousand or more people made homeless by the flood a trailer town is being planned. Bradford Rotary Club members are in charge of this project and the objective is 100 trailer cabins to be located on the ball grounds. It is proposed to install showers and toilet facilities to serve this big trailer camp. The search for a sufficient number of trailers is already underway."
