Description : Mrs. Wesley Hughes, Churchill, R.R., passed away suddenly on July 17, while visiting a sister in Toronto. Cause of death was a heart attack.Mrs. Hughes was a native of Scotland, her maiden name being Jean McLean. She came to Canada as a child with her family and in 1928 married Wesley Hughes, and they settled on the Hughes homestead,
Concession 2. Innisfil.Mrs. Hughes was a member of Gilford United Church and was an active worker in the Missionary Society of that church.Her husband predeceased her in 1950. She is survived by two sons, Douglas and Robert, both at home; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Stewart Wood of Brighton, Mrs. F. Cowan of Milton, Mrs. G. Stephens, Robert and Hugh McLean, all of Toronto.The funeral was from the Hughes' Funeral Home, Cookstown, where services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. F. Sanders, and Rev. F. G. MacTavish of Bradford. Interment was in Sixth Line Cemetery, Innisfil.The pallbearers were Grenville Hughes, Gordon Hughes, John Hughes, John Wood, Ken. Sturgeon and Allan Todd.
