Description : The recent very sudden death of Mr. Roy Bell at his Barrie home was followed on December 27, 1965, by that of his wife, who passed away in Barrie Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Bell never appeared to recover from the shock of her husband's death.Born at Rugby, Oro Township, Mr. and Mrs. Bell were married there in 1912, and lived at Elmvale until 1919 when they came to West Gwillimbury in the Fennells district, remaining there until their retirement to Barrie in 1947. While in West Gwillimbury she was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Coulson's Hill, and since going to Barrie of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.Mrs. Bell is survived by her daughter Marion (Mrs. William Watt) of Bond Head; her son Kenneth of Barrie, and grandchildren, Jean, Bob and Mary Jane Watt, and Gary, Don and Jimmy Bell; also a sister, Mrs. Margaret Pearson of Orillia. Rev. Ross Adams conducted the funeral services from the Steckley Funeral Home, Barrie and interment was made in St. John's Cemetery, Coulson's Hill.The pallbearers were her nephews, Bob Pearson, Clarence Baynes, Ken Hughes, Ray Gillespie, Tom Bell and John Bell.

Description : Mrs. Archie McLean passed away at Simcoe Manor, January 12, in her 79th year. She was the former Henrietta McClennon, daughter of the late John McClennon and Rachel McCann of Cookstown. She married Archie McLean in Cookstown, June 25, 1912. Her husband predeceased her November 17, 1961. He was also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.Mrs. McLean had been an invalid since a short time after they moved into town from their farm on Highway 27 fifteen years ago. Prior to her husband's death, she went to reside in Simcoe Manor. Mrs. McLean was a member of St. John's Anglican Church and A.C.W. and took an active interest in her church right to the time of her death. She had many friends and was beloved by all.The funeral took place from the Hughes' Funeral Home on January 14, with Rev. J. A. Howard conducting the services. Pallbearers were Pat Ramsay, Russell Draper, Doug Hopper, Walter Beatty, Albert Gibney and Eldon Neilly. Interment took place in St. John's Cemetery, Cookstown.(Cookstown News)
