The Johnston youth's gun is said to have discharged when he tripped in the heavy snow. He shouted for help and a boy who was skating nearby ran to the marina and called police.The dead boy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Leaman.

Broderick, died at Edmonton on January 5, 1964, at the age of 96.Mr. Broderick belonged to one of the pioneer families of the Honeywood and Redickville area and knew the hardships of pioneer life in the late 1800's.The Broderick family farmed at Redickville and Honeywood, then moved to Bond Head in 1927 and farmed there until retiring, when Mr. Broderick was about 80 years of age.In 1904 Mr. Broderick married Innes Allin, who passed away at Bond Head in 1956. He is survived by a family of two daughters, Mrs. Irma Brethet of Thornton and Miss Willa of Edmonton, and one son, Bert, of Sault Ste. Marie.The funeral was held at Shelburne on January 8.
