This photograph shows Miss A. Wierenga was Grades 1, 2, and 3 at the future site of the Springdale Christian School, built beside the Canal after Hurricane Hazel. This school was in use for almost 25 years, and later combined with the Holland Marsh District Christian School in Ansnorveld. The old school was later incorporated into the Church building.
This is the opening of Ansnorveld Public School in September of 1935. The first teacher was Miss. Aileen Nolan. In 1957 Mr. Dan Blake of Bradford was the main instructor.
"Bradford District High School won the York Simcoe High School Boys Softball Championships for the sixth year in a row. They defeated Dr. G.W. Williams High School in Aurora 4-2 with three innings overtime. [Back row], Jim Brown, Barry Neilly, Cliff Corner, Jim Lynn, Rick Ellis, Bill Jackson, and coach Don Jarvis. [Front row], John Scheuremann, Ted Richards, Ian Campbell, Larry Callicragas, and Scott Forbes."
The article accompanying this photograph gives a quick history of Bemrose Co. General Store, owned by the Bemrose brothers John and James. Their father, John, was a contractor and was well known in the town, a reputation which was passed down to the brothers. This store in the photograph was run by James Bemrose alone after his return to Bradford in 1901 in the former store of J.S. Boddy, and was in the same block as the Edmanson businesses on Holland Street (near 71 Holland St. East). James Bemrose was a member of the Masonic Order. This photograph was taken because he was part of Bradford's Model School Board, along with other board members.

This high school was located on Queen Street. It consisted of four large classrooms, two upstairs and two down, and a natural history room. It was built in 1892. The school employed three teachers. In 1900, the number of students was 87. In 1904, it was 144. The first head master was S. Arthur Marling. This building burned down in 1924.
